FAB Birthday Show

We met Thomas and Laura plus the Colemans and lots of family friends at an outdoor Beatles tribute band concert.  Margaret danced the night away, ate cookies, did somersaults and bonded with the Colemans big time.  She's asked
me several times when we'll get to see them again and if they can come for a sleep over.  Wilson had his first cake.  The icing was not a hit, but we all had fun watching his reaction.  Thomas and Laura got him a bag full of cool, very intellectually stimulating books and toys.  Wilson was nothing less than enamoured with the free fan we got when we walked in the door.  The rest of us played with the toys.

New Ride

We invited the deReisthals over to help celebrate Wilson's birthday a little early.  Their children are almost exactly the same ages as ours.  Wilson got a new ride, which Margaret confiscated right away.  Eventually, all 4 kids ignored all the toys.  Margaret and Jack played on the woodpile while Wilson and Avery checked out the fridge.

Wildcats

We all went to the BGA High School football game tonight.  (Our friend Steve is a coach.)  Margaret loves to high five the mascot and the players as they run into the stadium.  Our friend Meredith is always looking for an excuse to use her new iphone for something so she sent me this picture after I'd taken Wilson home to bed.  Thanks Mere!

Margaret decided she wanted to help feed Wilson his bottle tonight.  Of course that quickly turned into wanting to "do it herself."  Wilson didn't seem to mind,  but he didn't eat as quickly as she would have liked.

Ringo

Margaret was so happy to find her Lincoln Logs after they'd gone missing for a while.  She doesn't like to build with them so much as she likes to use them as drum and drumsticks.  We asked her to play outside...

My First Tooth

Well, I almost thought Wilson was going to make it to his first birthday without a tooth in his head, but one of his upper teeth broke through today.  The ones on either side are not far behind.  He was thrilled when we took a picture of it.

Captain Cupcake

Margaret, Wilson and I went downtown to a new cupcake shop with friends today.  Margaret picked out all her own accessories.  Wilson got to "hang out" with his friend Everett.

Strawberry Chef

Margaret and I made some chocolate covered strawberries this morning.  We got the recipe out of the cookbook that Aunt Anne gave Margaret, it's been a big hit.

Fat Lip

We went to play at an indoor playground today.  Wilson dove into the carpet face first and got his first fat lip.  He did cry but was a trooper about it overall.  Just think, some women pay lots of money to make their lips look just like this.

Tomato Arts Festival

We went to the Tomato Arts Festival with Laura on Saturday while Thomas was working on their new house.  Margaret listened to a band, hula-hooped, had a few treats, had her face painted, went down the water slide and got a new hair do.  Pretty amazing since we were really only there about an hour.  Wilson, as always hung out and flirted with the girls that walked by.
We got to see Thomas and Laura's new house, it's so pretty and they've worked hard.  Margaret was "helping" in the yard while we were there.  Wilson was just being cute.

Wilson is mobile!

Well, life as we know it is over. We stunted Wilson's development for our own convenience for as long as possible, but we couldn't hold him back any more. He crawled across the room today to get, of all things, Margaret's toy broom. Right now he's taking all the things off of Margaret's train table one at a time. She's downstairs having a snack. There will no doubt be mayhemand blood-shed when she sees what is going on up here.
